# Your First Trade on GDex Pro

This is your step-by-step walkthrough for going from zero to completing your first trade on GDex Pro. Take it one step at a time — you've got this.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Total time:** About 5–10 minutes for your first time. Subsequent trades take seconds.
{% endhint %}

***

## Step 1: Visit GDex Pro

Open your browser and go to [**https://gdex.pro**](https://gdex.pro).

You'll land on the GDex Pro homepage. Take a moment to look around — you'll see the main navigation at the top (Discovery, Portfolio, Memescope, Bubble Map, Bridge, CopyTrade) and a connect wallet button in the top-right corner.

***

## Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

Click the **"Connect Wallet"** button in the top-right corner of the page. A modal (pop-up window) will appear with wallet connection options.

### Option A: New to crypto? Use Web3Auth (recommended for beginners)

1. In the connection modal, select **Web3Auth**
2. Choose **Google** or **Apple** as your sign-in method
3. Complete the sign-in process in the pop-up window (just like logging into any other app)
4. GDex Pro will automatically create a crypto wallet for you — no seed phrase required

That's it! You're connected and ready to go.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Web3Auth is the easiest way to get started.** Your wallet is secured using advanced cryptography and tied to your social account. You can always export your private key later if you want full self-custody.
{% endhint %}

### Option B: Already have a wallet? Connect it directly

If you have MetaMask, Phantom, or another existing wallet:

1. Select your wallet type from the connection modal
2. Your wallet application will open and ask you to approve the connection
3. Click **Approve** or **Connect** in your wallet
4. You're connected

For a full list of supported wallets and networks, see the [GDex Pro Getting Started guide](https://docs.gemach.io/gemach-dao/products/gdex-pro/getting-started-with-gdex.pro).

## Step 3: Fund Your Wallet

Before you can trade, you need some crypto in your wallet. GDex Pro gives you two easy options:

### Option A: Buy crypto with Apple Pay (easiest for new users)

GDex Pro supports direct crypto purchases using **Apple Pay** — no separate exchange account needed.

1. Navigate to the purchase/fund section of GDex Pro
2. Select the cryptocurrency you want to buy (USDC is a good starting point — it's always worth $1)
3. Enter the amount in dollars
4. Select **Apple Pay** as your payment method
5. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode
6. Your crypto will appear in your wallet within moments

For full details, see [Apple Pay Integration](https://docs.gemach.io/gemach-dao/products/gdex-pro/integrations/apple-pay-integration).

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Always start small.** When you're learning, use an amount you're completely comfortable with — such as $10–$20. Never invest more than you can afford to lose, especially when you're just getting started.
{% endhint %}

### Option B: Transfer from another wallet or exchange

If you already have crypto on another platform (Coinbase, Binance, another wallet, etc.):

1. Copy your GDex Pro wallet address (visible in the top-right after connecting)
2. From your other platform, send crypto to that address
3. Make sure you're sending on the **correct network** — sending ETH on Ethereum to a Solana address, for example, won't work
4. Wait for the transaction to confirm (usually 10–60 seconds)

## Step 4: Explore the Interface

Now that you're connected and funded, take a quick look at what GDex Pro can do. The main navigation sections are:

| Section        | What it does                                                     |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Discovery** | Find new token pairs, trending tokens, and trading opportunities |
| **Portfolio** | See all your holdings across every connected wallet and chain |
| **Memescope** | Browse and filter community-driven tokens and memecoins |
| **Bubble Map** | Visualize tokens by market cap in an interactive bubble chart |
| **Bridge** | Move tokens between different blockchains |
| **CopyTrade** | Automatically copy the trades of successful traders |

## Step 5: Make Your First Swap

A **swap** is simply trading one token for another — for example, exchanging USDC (a stablecoin worth $1) for SOL (Solana's native token).

Here's how:

1. Navigate to the **Discovery** section or find the swap interface
2. Select the token you want to **swap from** (e.g., USDC)
3. Select the token you want to **swap to** (e.g., SOL)
4. Enter the **amount** you want to swap
5. Review the details:
   * **Price** — the current exchange rate
   * **Fees** — the transaction cost (usually very small)
   * **Slippage** — a small tolerance for price movement during the transaction (the default setting is fine for beginners)
6. Click **Swap** or **Confirm**
7. If your wallet requires approval, confirm in the wallet pop-up

Your swap will execute in seconds. You'll see a success notification when it's done.

## Step 6: Check Your Portfolio

After your trade, head to the **Portfolio** section to see your updated holdings.

Here you'll see:

* All the tokens you hold and their current values
* Your profit/loss (PNL) on each position
* Transaction history

Congratulations — you've made your first trade on GDex Pro! 🎉
