# Wallet Creation

This guide walks you through creating a MetaMask wallet — the most widely used browser wallet for Ethereum and Arbitrum.

## Steps

### 1. Download MetaMask

Go to [metamask.io](https://metamask.io/) and click the download button. Always download MetaMask directly from the official site — never from third-party sources.

### 2. Add to Chrome

Click **Add to Chrome** in the Chrome Web Store to install the extension.

### 3. Add Extension

When the browser prompt appears, click **Add extension** to confirm installation.

### 4. Get Started

Once the extension installs, click **Get started** in the MetaMask welcome screen.

### 5. Create a Wallet

Click **Create a wallet** (choose this option if you do not already have a MetaMask wallet to import).

### 6. Set a Password

Set a strong password for local access to your MetaMask extension. This password protects your wallet on this specific device only — it is not your seed phrase.

### 7. Reveal Your Seed Phrase

Click **Reveal secret words** to see your 12-word seed phrase.

> ⚠️ **Critical:** Write your seed phrase down on paper and store it somewhere safe and offline. Never store it digitally (no screenshots, no text files, no email, no cloud storage). Anyone with your seed phrase has full control of your wallet and all funds in it.

### 8. Confirm Your Seed Phrase

After storing your seed phrase safely, click **Next**. Enter your seed phrase in the correct order to confirm you have saved it, then click **Confirm**.

### 9. Done

Your MetaMask wallet is ready. Click **All done** to access it.
